CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (35mm, 20.35 g, 6h). Radiate and draped bust right, holding spear and shield decorated with [gorgoneion between two serpents] / Gordian on horseback right, thrusting spear at lion running right below. SNG France 1722 var. (rev. legend; same obv. die as 1702-4); SNG Levante 1132 var. (same). Fine, brown patina, sough surfaces.
